You Won’t Finish It All

I’m a big planner person. My planner pages are broken into Monday – Wednesday and Thursday – Sunday, so each Wednesday and Sunday I find myself moving unfinished tasks to the next page/week. And each Sunday night, as I review my planner, I make a mental note of what is undone—and believe me, there is always something undone.

And while sometimes that gives me the “Sunday Scaries,” I’m coming to terms with the fact that there will always be more things I could have, should have, would have done.

But there are also things I don’t write in my planner. Like make chocolate chip cookies because my coworker sent me a recipe. Or throw a blanket in the grass and read because the weather is too delicious to ignore. Or rewatch an old favorite movie because someone brought it up and now I can’t stop thinking about it.

It’s okay to not get everything done.

It’s not okay to deprive yourself of the joy of watching a slow sunset.

Tomorrow is a page turn. Let’s see what we make of it.

Love always,

Liz
