Meet the Slippery Rock University SPARK Leadership Team 2025 – 2026

The Smile Project is a nonprofit organization dedicated to spreading Happiness through intentional acts of kindness, youth service clubs, and daily gratitude practices. Our flagship program finds its home in the SPARK Clubs. SPARK stands for “Strengthening Positivity and Reinforcing Kindness” and these groups are formed by inspiring young people who want to make their schools and communities kinder and friendlier places to be.

Today, I want to introduce the 2025 – 2026 school year leadership team of one of the oldest SPARK clubs, Slippery Rock University (SRU). This is the tenth year for SRU SPARK and I am so inspired by their kindness already! Be sure to follow them on Instagram at @sruspark_club for instant inspiration—their SPARKler kickoff event last month had over 50 people in attendance!

President: Ethan Vasconi

Ethan is a junior Secondary English Education major with a minor in Professional Japanese from Hermitage, Pennsylvania. He has been a part of SPARK since his freshman year and is the newly sworn-in president for the 2025 – 2026 school year. “I chose to run for e-board because I’ve loved the club since I joined, and I enjoy meeting new faces. I’m super excited to have this opportunity to help it grow and to see it succeed. A few things that make me happy are adventure, new experiences, and stepping outside of my comfort zone.”

Vice President: Patrick Krupp

Patrick is a senior petroleum engineering major from Bloomsburg, PA. "SPARK helped me meet a lot of people my freshman year and I loved what the club stood for, so it was an easy choice to become an Eboard member. Being able to help shape and grow the club has been an amazing experience, and I am really excited for this year. We have a lot of ideas that I'm excited to see come to fruition and that makes me very happy."

Secretary: Jordan Ensign

Jordan is a senior English: Professional Writing and Philosophy major from Strongsville, Ohio who has been involved with SPARK since she was a first year student. “SPARK was such an instrumental part of my freshman year. I always looked forward to meetings and events due to the positive and welcoming environment, so going into my sophomore year, I knew I wanted to join e-board to help in continually fostering that environment. Some things that make me happy include spending quality time with my friends and family, reading, and writing.”  

Treasurer: Emma Sedlacek

Emma is Psychology major on the Pre-Occupational Therapy track and plans to continue her education at SRU in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy program, aspiring to become an outpatient pediatric OT in the Cleveland area. She’s from Olmsted Falls, Ohio. Emma chose to run for an executive board position because she loves the goal of SPARK and the friendships she’s built through the organization. “I enjoy giving back to others and making people smile every day, and I wanted to continue spreading that positivity through a leadership role.”

Event Chair: Adisyn Zang

Adi is a sophomore Biology major from Midlothian Virginia. “This will be my second year in SPARK! I am so excited to watch SPARK grow and gain more recognition. We have been brainstorming quite a bit and have a bunch of new events in the works! SPARK really is my happy place, and I cannot wait to contribute to the joy that SPARK brings to our campus! Some things that bring me joy are lifting, climbing, good food, music, and connecting with my community!”

Public Relations Chair: Julia Bryner 

Julia Bryner is a Marketing major from West Virginia, with a minor in photography. She loves to spend time outside, trying new things, and spending time with friends and family. This is her first year as Public Relations Chair, and she is pleased to be a part of SPARK; it has helped her branch out of her comfort zone and get involved on campus.
