April Affirmations

I am creative. Even when I stare at an empty word document for hours. Even when the canvas remains unpainted. Even when the melody is stuck on the same lick. I am creative. Even when I don’t feel like I am.


I am strong. Even when something that used to feel easy feels hard. Even when I’d rather stay in bed than face a problem. Even when the thought of something makes me feel weak. I am strong. Even when I don’t feel like I am.


I am brilliant. Even when I make silly mistakes. Even when I do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. Even when I don’t understand something the first time I read it. I am brilliant. Even when I don’t feel like I am.


I am present. Even when I get distracted by dings on my phone. Even when I skip the sunset for the stress. Even when I feel like I’m rushing from place to place and project to project. I am present. Even when I don’t feel like I am.


I am bold. Even when I feel like I’m stuck in the same old routines. Even when I feel very average or boring. Even when I am sitting in silence. I am bold. Even when I don’t feel like I am.


I am kind. Even when I have to step away from something in frustration. Even when I speak firmly on something I believe in. Even when I feel my patience wearing thin. I am kind. Even when I don’t feel like I am.


I am worthy. Even when I slip into falsely defining value by external factors. Even when I feel I have fallen short. Even when I begin to doubt. I am worthy. Even when I don’t feel like I am.


And I am sometimes messy. And loud. And deliriously joyful. I am intentional and focused and whimsical and free. I am determined and disciplined and adventurous and unbothered. And I am grateful. I am happy. I am love.


I am exactly what I need.


Even when I don’t feel like I am.
