Service Spotlight: Kindness4All

Every now and then, you are fortunate enough to be connected to the kind of energy and light that this world needs. That’s how I felt after exchanging emails with Pranavi Reddi, Founder of Kindness4All in Frisco, Texas. She is doing absolutely amazing things in the world of compassion, joy, and peace. I am so excited to introduce you to her today.

Liz: Let’s start in true Smile Project fashion. Give me a ‘Happiness is.’

Pranavi: Happiness is knowing that people around you will always be there to support you, no matter what.

Liz: Tell me about your project.

Pranavi: My project is Kindness4All a kindness club trying to help make the world a happier, kinder, and more compassionate place. Every month we partner with different nonprofits in our area to help make a change in the lives of people in our area. Whether it is through a thank you note or a small teddy bear, our club always looks for ways to help make kindness the norm in our community. We hope that our initiatives through Kindess4All will help inspire others to be kinder and, most importantly, make them smile! This is especially important now, in a time of uncertainty and fear. A little kindness can help us all get through this time together.

Liz: What is the driving force behind what you do?

Pranavi: I believe that kindness is the greatest superpower in the world. The best part about that is that kindness is something we all have in ourselves. The driving force for this club is my desire to help everyone tap into their superpower and make it something that is a part of their everyday life. Being able to make a change in other people’s lives through our daily endeavors is a power of unimaginable magnitude. However, oftentimes, this superpower is something that we tend to overlook. Through Kindness4All, I hope to help people become more aware of this superpower they all have. The amazing work from our volunteers helps us make the world a kinder and happier place. That, in my opinion, is the greatest thing that we, as a community, could do for the people around us. Both of these things are the driving force for Kindness4All.

Liz: What does service mean to you?

Pranavi: Service to me means doing whatever is in your power to help another person. This means serving the other person based on their needs, not what you want to do for the person. An act of service doesn’t have to be big to be considered service. A simple word of encouragement to someone struggling is just as much a service as helping feed the homeless at a local shelter. Service can come in many forms and is everywhere around us. Sometimes, it doesn’t seem obvious, but you can always serve, no matter what. Just setting aside a couple of minutes of your time to help someone can be a life-changing service to that person.

Liz: How can people get involved?

Pranavi: To help out with Kindness4All, you can take a look at our website and look at our “Current Events” tab. This tab will contain a list of projects that are currently ongoing and can tell you how you can help out. We have many activities and rotate our activities every month. You can write an encouraging letter or make a no-sew teddy bear help out. All these activities can help you earn volunteer hours, which will be approved by local non-profits.

To take part in these activities, you need to join our Remind group @Kindness4r.

You can also follow our Instagram @Kindness4Frisco to show your support for our cause and get more updates about our projects & events. You can also join our K.I.N.D Project (Kids Inspiring Noteworthy Deeds), a monthly competition to help inspire kids about the power of kindness through art. This competition is also a great way to get involved with our cause while having fun! All winners will be featured on our website and Instagram and win a sweet treat!

Liz: Is there anything else you’d like to add?

Pranavi: We are always on the lookout for new members and partners. If you are interested in joining our club or becoming a partner with us, you can always email us at kindness4all2020@gmail.com or join our Remind 101 group @Kindness4r.

Liz: Do you have a final piece of advice to leave us with?

Pranavi: You have everything you need within yourself; just keep smiling and moving forward. Your attitude is the biggest factor in your success. You are capable of amazing things!
