Aid4Need is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Frisco, TX dedicated to helping the community in a variety of ways and inspiring others to do so as well. I am pleased to introduce them to The Smile Project community through this interview with their president, Sasi Kondru.
Liz: Fill in the blank, Happiness is..
Sasi: Happiness is when you forget about all the bad things in life and enjoy the moment.
Liz: What is Aid4Need?
Sasi: We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Frisco, TX dedicated to helping the community in a variety of ways and inspiring others to do so as well! So far, we have over 490 volunteers in middle and high school, have served over 21,000 people through 72 service activities, and raised $15,900 for various charitable causes. We make cards/crafts, host webinars and informational sessions, host contests, raise funds for our community, and more!
Liz: What is the driving force behind what you do?
Sasi: Our driving force is to help make our community a better place anytime, anywhere. I had been volunteering since middle school in a variety of organizations, having over 300 service hours in one, and volunteering so much inspired me to create an organization where students can volunteer and be inspired to make a change in their community through our activities and competitions. Volunteers from anywhere can choose what activities they participate in, allowing them to help their community in the way they'd like to. We also provide virtual opportunities for those who live far away and still would like to help make a difference via Aid4Need.
Liz: What does service mean to you?
Sasi: To me, service means to be able to make a difference anytime, anywhere.
Liz: How can people get involved?
Sasi: If you'd like to be a member, join our Remind @a4need You can also follow us on Instagram @aid4need_4, TikTok @aid4need, or check out our website aid4need.org.
Liz: Anything else you'd like to add?
Sasi: We welcome all high school students who are interested in helping their community, and we have officer positions open every few months so volunteers can get even more involved in their community. Also, we are currently starting a blog, Voice4Need, which will educate students on current events and inspire them to take action.
Liz: Do you have a favorite quote or piece of advice you’d like to leave us with?
Sasi: My favorite piece of advice is to aim for growth, not success.
